2005 "Blue Moon Highway played at my wedding in July of 2005, what an event!!! These guys had both tight lyrics and vocals and could play everything from rockabilly, to the standard classics such as The Beatles, and my personal favorite, the Blues. These guys are an extremely versatile and talented bunch of musicians. If you're into this genre of music, don't think twice...book these guys! I do want to warn of one hazard that did actually occur at my wedding, something that in all fairness should be stated in this review. Uniqueness : Blue Moon Highway is a unique act, perfect for your next event. We play "Country Music...and then some" with a unique Portland, Oregon feel. We are different than most other bands in that we have multiple lead singers, not just one. We have a rhythm section mentality, and are quite happy backing whomever is taking the front position at any given time. This allows our sound to be diverse, because we all sing differently. Music and Song Catalog: We play "Country Music...and then some." Our "Country Music" evokes the twang of Austin and Bakersfield, while the "...and then some" brings together the British Invasion, early and classic Rock and Roll, blues, folk and some "oldies." If you are interested in "Country Music...and then some," then hire us. We are not a "cover band" in the classic sense, as we also have an ever-growing catalog of original tunes that have a comfortable familiarity. This wide variety of styles is great for all types of social events such as birthdays, anniversaries, night clubs, corporate functions, festivals, picnics and weddings. The music and presentation will keep you and your guests entertained throughout the event. We're always complimented on our appropriate volume levels, and professional mix quality. While we do play loud at large clubs, County Fairs and Music Festivals, we also play "unplugged" shows where quiet conversations can be carried out just a few feet from the band. We can adjust our sound system for different sized venues. Philosophy: We believe strongly in delivering the experience desired by the folks who hire us.
